Fee allocation models on Wingly

Fee allocation models on Wingly

On Wingly, when creating your flight proposals, you have the choice between two distinct models for distributing costs between you and passengers: the model by equal distribution of costs and the model by fixed price per passenger.

Explanation on the model by equal distribution of costs:

With this distribution model, the price of your flight will be established automatically according to the number of seats reserved by passengers. Each person on board, including the pilot, will contribute the same to the flight costs.

This means, based on a 4-seater aircraft:
  1. For 1 passenger, you will receive 50% of the fee.
  2. For 2 passengers, you will receive 66% of the fee.
  3. For 3 passengers, you will receive 75% of the fee.

This is the distribution model used by 90% of pilots on Wingly because it optimizes cost sharing. However with this type of distribution it is not possible to add other passengers once a reservation has been made and accepted. The flight is considered complete.

Explanation of the model by fixed price per passenger:

With this distribution model the price per passenger is independent of the number of passengers booking the flight. Indeed, the price per person is divided by the potential number of people on board and does not change according to the number of passengers making a reservation.

This means, based on a 4-seater aircraft:
  1. For 1 passenger, you will receive 25% of the fee.
  2. For 2 passengers, you will receive 50% of the fee.
  3. For 3 passengers, you will receive 75% of the fee.

With this type of distribution, other passengers have the possibility of joining an existing reservation. However, this remains extremely rare on Wingly.
