Understanding how the price of a flight is determined

The pilots of the Wingly community are private pilots who offer to share the costs associated with the flight with you. They do not provide a commercial service and do not make any profit. Pilots are not employees of Wingly. They are real enthusiasts who fly in their free time and wish to share their passion. Their only goal is to share the cost of the flight with you. Therefore as a passenger, you only pay your share in proportion to the total cost of the flight and the pilot also participates in the cost of the flight.

Fixed price per passenger

The total price of the flight is divided according to the number of seats available in the aircraft. Therefore the price per passenger is fixed and does not depend on the number of passengers booking the flight.

Equal cost-sharing

The price per passenger is based on the number of passengers booking the flight in question.

This means, on the basis of a 4-seater aircraft :
  1. For 1 passenger, the price of the flight is divided into two: 50% of the costs to be paid by the pilot and 50% by the passenger.
  2. For 2 passengers, the price of the flight is divided into three: 33% charged to the pilot and 33% per passenger.
  3. For 3 passengers, the price of the flight is divided by four: 25% to be paid by the pilot and 25% per passenger.

What is included in the price paid on our platform

Strictly speaking, it includes gas, airport fees, airplane rental, service, and insurance. When you choose a flight, you have access to a price estimate based on the planned itinerary, the number of people on board, and the type of aircraft used by the pilot.
