Take over a booking through our new feature "Booking Opportunities"

Take over a booking through our new feature "Booking Opportunities"

With this feature, you can now take over a booking that have failed with other pilots in just a few clicks. Since the bookings are already paid for, you simply need to offer passengers the exact same booking again. By taking over a booking, you agree to perform, to the best of your ability, the flight originally booked by the passengers with the first pilot: a great opportunity to discover new flights!

Here is the procedure to use the feature:

Step 1 - Enter your preferences to refine the list of bookings you can take over:

Note: Using filters within the feature allows you to sort the bookings based on your preferences. Using filters does not change your default preferences.

Step 2 - Find the bookings you want to take over and hide those that are not of interest to you:

By clicking on the flight title, you can access a summary of information regarding the flight originally booked by the passengers. It's worth noting that by taking over a bookings, you automatically offer passengers a flight similar to the one originally booked.
The displayed amount represents the maximum you can receive. This is the pilot's share intended for the flight originally booked by the passengers. If the cost to perform the same flight with your aircraft is higher, you will only receive this maximum amount. The decision to take over the booking in these circumstances is up to you.

Step 3 - Offer to take over the booking for the passengers:

Additional Information:

  1. When taking over a booking, you have the option to take it over on the passengers' preferred date as well as on an alternative date provided by the passengers during the initial request. If no alternative date was provided, you can only take over the booking on the passengers' preferred date.
  2. Since you agree to take over the flight exactly as it was booked, you only need to provide information about the aircraft used for the flight and any potential additional costs (airport fees, etc.).
  3. When you provide your information, the system calculates if your proposal exceeds the maximum amount possible to receive.

In this example, the hourly cost of our aircraft is higher than that used by the original pilot, resulting in a higher total flight cost for the same route. With our aircraft, the total cost of the flight amounts to £220. In the case of strictly equal sharing, two passengers should contribute a total of £147 ((£220/3) x 2). However, the maximum amount that can be received in this example is £124. It is therefore up to me to decide whether I still wish to take over the booking under these conditions.

Step 4 - Await confirmation from the passengers and take off!

When making a booking takeover proposal, passengers have 24 hours to accept. Once accepted, the booking appears in your list of booked flights, and you are notified of the passengers' response

You can also access the history of your booking takeovers and communicate with the passengers:

Here's how to manage notifications related to this feature:

Note: Notifications are based on the preferences provided. You will receive notifications for booking opportunities that match your preferences.
