Framework for the use of microlights on Wingly

Framework for the use of microlights on Wingly

Were you aware that 20% of booking requests on Wingly involve just one passenger?

As a result of thorough discussions with our insurers, Wingly started accepting 3-axis microlights for pilots with a minimum LAPL (Light Aircraft Pilot Licence) and valid medical certification, opened its doors in early 2024.

These flights will benefit from the same additional cover that we currently offer on Wingly for certified aircraft.

So if you hold a microlight licence, a private pilot's licence (at least LAPL) and a valid medical, you can now offer 3-axis microlight flights on Wingly by following the usual procedure:

  1. Adding an aircraft
  2. Create a flight template
  3. Create availabilities for your flights
For the moment, pilots who only hold a microlight licence are not yet authorised to use our platform. Similarly, microlights that do not meet the 3-axis standard are not yet accepted.
If you have any questions, please write to us at tower@wingly.io or by phone on +447708405306. We are available from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 17:30.
